Dr Nick Cook receives EuroSys Roger Needham Award

A PhD thesis by Dr Nick Cook has been chosen to receive the EuroSys Roger Needham Award.

Nick's thesis, entitled 'Middleware support for non-repudiable business-to-business interactions', addresses the need for systematic support to ensure accountability in business to business interactions.

The award will be presented during the EuroSys 2007 conference, which will be held in Lisbon, Portugal later this year.

The Roger Needham award recognises a PhD student from a European University whose thesis is regarded to be an exceptional, innovative contribution to knowledge in the systems area – or the study of software platforms supporting a large spectrum of applications. It includes operating systems, distributed systems, real-time systems, systems aspects of databases, language runtimes, embedded systems and computer network, and intersects a large number of application areas.
