Paul Watson is a Professor in the School of Computing Science at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.

His research interests are in object-based parallel systems (especially database servers) and the Grid.

He is particularly interested in how databases can be integrated into Grid computations. A current theme is on how to perform high-performance distributed query processing over Grid-enabled database servers.
