Phil Broughton is an honorary reader at St. Andrews- University and until recently was a visiting professor at Heriot Watt University.

He has over 20 years experience as a Technical Manager and System Designer at ICL High Performance Systems in the field of parallel systems development and has taken early retirement. During this time he played a leading part in several EPSRC and Esprit projects where he project managed teams at several universities and other industrial partners.

He has extensive knowledge of the design of high performance computer systems to meet business computing requirements.
